Hillside Blast

Uncle Joel and Uncle Ray led a team of two men, five women, and four young guys from Arizona. The guys came and helped with construction and all the other dirty stuff while the ladies helped around the campus doing whatever was required of them. One of the biggest project the ladies undertook was giving our office a new look by painting the new cupboard doors and walls. Here are some pictures from their time with us.

The Alpha and Omega Crews

We want to thank all the people who have sacrificed to help us with the wonderful building! Thank you to Shared Hope International for their role in buying and shipping this building. Thank you to our construction leaders, Bryan Crawford, Dave Ochsner, and lead engineer Bill Dunning for their instrumental work. And we do not want to forget the many men who came to volunteer to work on the footings, the concrete floor, the trusses, roof, and site work. What a great joy to have a team of dedicated people so willing to pour out their hearts, sweat, and lives to help us here! A huge vinaka vaka levu sara ga to you all! This photo album is dedicated to all of you.

Students International

Students International is a ministry that works with college students in the US and helps arrange mission trips for them. We were blessed to have three of their teams visit us to volunteer on campus. The first team with leader, Vito, from Nebraska were a great blessing to build our preschool playground. See the photo album showing the new swing set. The second and third teams built chicken coops and chicken yards for our 150 broilers. The women worked on our "keyhole" gardens near the bures for vegetables. Both of these used concepts from Permaculture, using a simple garden techniques. They also worked on making pottery. We are trying to dig our own clay, purify the clay, and fire it using traditional techniques. Here are some shots from their time here with us.

Kids' Playground

A team from Student International, an organization that works with colleges in the US, came and worked on our kids’ playground. They built a swing and a few other things for the kids to climb on, slide, and swing. Here are a few shots of the new playground.
