Homes
of Hope impacts Fiji
Solo Mums
Homes of Hope helps young single
mothers by teaching them life changing skills. These
women then
can become
productive
and responsible members of the community. This is
done primarily through long-term residential care.
Children
Homes of Hope helps children by establishing new
lifestyles. New habits, thinking, and attitudes
are established
to help break repeated negative patterns. A safe
home is provided
for their early years of growth and development.
Families
Prevention is the best cure to make strong healthy
marriages. Homes of Hope works with young married
couples as well
as those preparing to be married. These couples
take a rigorous either-week class to better equip
them
for the
demands of raising a healthy family.
Communities
Homes of Hope believes very strongly that the
institution of the family is the core of a
strong community,
therefore the nation. The message spoken is
faithfulness in marriage – before
and during marriage. Leaders are being trained
to take this message into schools.
Overview
Homes of Hope was founded in 1996 to stop the cycles
of poverty and destruction of families throughout
the South Pacific. A group of local business men and women in Suva,
Fiji incorporated this registered charity
non-government
organization to bring hope to those hurt
by these cycles.
Since its inception, Homes of Hope
has transformed the lives of single mothers and
their children,
strengthened families, and inspired the local community. Through
a powerful combination of programs, Homes of Hope is providing vocational
and academic training, instilling responsibility into the lives of
parents, and the spiritually mentoring young couples as well as the
young single mothers who reside at the Homes of Hope compound.
